«Nothing Else Matters» es una balada creada por la banda californiana de thrash metal Metallica. Salió a la venta por primera vez en 1991 dentro del llamado Black album.
El cantante y guitarrista, James Hetfield la escribió para una antigua novia suya, aunque ahora no recuerda por qué; algunos opinan que podría referirse a la nostalgia de pasar todo su tiempo en las giras (no matter how far), mientras que seguía estando cerca de ella (so close) con el corazón. Él la consideraba una canción muy personal y no pensaba publicarla, pero Kirk Hammett la escuchó y le gustó tanto que decidieron incluirla en el Black Album. Ahora Metallica la considera, según Hetfield, una canción dedicada a todos sus fans que están enamorados.

En esta segunda entrada de mi blog, voy a hacer referencia a una de las canciones más conocidas del panorama musical internacional "Don't worry, be happy". Como ya es conocido por todos esta canción de Bobby Mcferrin fue versionada por Bob Marley, hecho que la hizo todavía más conocida.
Esta canción formó parte de la banda sonora de la película de Tom Cruise "cocktail", que la hizo ser todavía más famosa. George Bush también usó esta canción para su campaña electoral.

Hoy, también voy a hacer referencia a una canción de un grupo español, que a mi parecer todos deberíais escchar alguna vez en vuestra vida.

Hablo de "Maldito duende" del mítico grupo Héroes del silencio. Son muchos los rumores que corren a cerca de su separación, pero ninguno de los miembros del grupo ha dado un motivo claro, pero recientemente, en 2007 volvieron a unirse para hacer una pequeña gira por España y Latinoamérica. La canción "Maldito duende" fue uno de sus primeros éxitos, y se podría decir que gracias a ella les llegó la fama.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Para estrenar este blog de canciones que todo el mundo debería escuchar alguna vez en su vida, no podía elegir otra que no fuera esta. Bohemian Rhapsody, una canción de Queen, en la que el mítico Freddie Mercury le confiensa a su madre su homosexualidad.
A lo largo de esta canción van apareciendo nombres que han servido a los productores del musical "We will rock you" para darle nombre a muchos de los personajes que en él aparecen como es el caso de "Galileo" o "Scaramouche".
Han sido muchos los críticos musicales que han calificado esta canción como "The greatest song ever written", la mejor canción jamás escrita, y la verdad es que no exageraron al calificarla.
